Our current assignment for biology is to make a poster explaining taxonomy. It’s ok, but I definitely prefered the other day where we were in complete chaos.
I really desperate for a new book. I am re-reading The Theif Lord for the bajillionth time. Every book I have has been read several times, and the school library has nothing interesting looking that I haven’t read. Maybe I will read the Oddessey again. It’s been a long time since I last read that.
Until next time, I am: desperate for a good book.
Today has been a good day for me. I did a lot of homework, caught up in the areas I was behind in, and with my little history project involving my book, I moved to the middle bronze age (I was at early stone age). The story is set in a Medieval era so steel age. I’m not to far from where I need to be to have my personal reference finished.
I am looking up stuff for biology and I officially know more about plants than I every wanted to. Somehow, with my teachers, I get a feeling this won’t be the end of it. *sigh* On the other head, I accidentally typed in “parts of a parasitic pant” when the last word should have been plant. I got some really nasty pictures of parasites and parasitic twins (so horrible), and some rather odd pictures of pants. The important thing is that I found a picture of two-headed turtle that was an inch wide. I’m not sure why this was important, but I like the picture. Maybe we will discuss mutations when we get to genetics in biology.
Until next time, I am: Excited with the way things are looking.
p.s. My “L” key is sticking now…
OKAY, SO MY CAPS LOCK BUTTON IS STUCK AND WON’T GO DOWN. I AM GOING TO HOLD DOWN SHIFT FOR LOWERCASE LETTERS, BUT I JUST THOUGHT YOU SHOULD KNOW. I FEEL LIKE AN IDIOT.
There seems to be something stuck underneath it, but I’m not sure what. I have enjoyed my Thanksgiving, but it is never a restful holiday for me. Our house is finally decorated for Christmas, my mother went shopping on black friday *shiver*, and my cousin had her fourth birthday party, though insists that she is three until tomorrow. Kids. I am writing at full speed to make up for the past few weeks. Maybe I should take abreak for schoolwork…
Until next time, I am: exhausted from the weekend.
I saw Disney’s Wreck-it Ralph. It was a really good movie and reminded me of the joystick games I used to play when I was little.
Thanksgiving is going good. I haven’t really seen my family, but as my uncle’s birthday and my cousin’s birthday party are tomorrow, I will be seeing a lot more of all my relatives.
I am feeling a little disinterested in blogging and am not really sure what to write about. The turkey is making me lethargic and sleepy! Nooooooo!
Until next time, I am: tired from turkey.
Today at school there was a presentation on bullying. It was really good, and a lot of parts made kids uncomfortable because they could relate to the situations: either as the victim or as the bully.
The best part was at the end when they announced that they were not actually there to talk about bullying, but were actually government agents on an investigation and were going to confiscate everyone’s phone to search for incriminating/illegal pictures and text (they weren’t, it was just to make people think about things that they had on their phone which weren’t appropriate.). Almost every kid was freaked out and ready to cry. Afterwards, everyone’s excuse was “I just didn’t want to lose my phone for two days!” I love how people can lie about not being scared. I was freaked out at the time as well. I didn’t think they were serious and I don’t have anything bad on my phone, but my adrenaline system definately went into fight or flight mode!
Until next time, I am: still trying to slow my heartbeat.
I’m feeling sick, but more in a sinus infection way than a cold or flu way.
Well, the choir I’m in just carolled at a store for the first time. It was an hour of standing and singing christmas songs. Still, we were each given a $10 gift card and a cookie, as well as the ability to use the employee discount for the remainder of the night. However, several people — including myself — were tired or didn’t feel good, so we left immediately after the singing was done.
Until next time, I am: sick of performing.
The movie Argo = amazing. Just saying.
What constitutes the perfect villain in a story? Is it intelligence? Wealth? Strength? Cruelty maybe? Everything that goes into a villain depends on who the antagonist is meant to be. Is he someone like Professor Umbridge from Harry Potter — a villain that is hated intensely by the reader? Possibly more like Voldemort — a villain whom the reader doesn’t like but understands the importance of.
What does this villain want: world domination, wealth, power, or do they simply desire misfortune to befall the hero? If the antagonist asks for something too grand, they sound crazy and clichéd. Too little, and they are not taken seriously by the reader.
Until next time, I am: thinking about the bad guy.
