My sore throat has faded, only to be succeded by a vicious headache. I am going to bed early again.
I’m back to working on the book. My brain decided to throw a wrench in the works by adding a shapeshifter and a possessed sword. The phrase “thow a wrench in the works” is not entirely accurate. The two fill in as wornderful sidekicks and add a little color to the story. I think they blend rather well. The sword took very little deciding: I had been exploring that option since the beginning. Now to come up with names. The shapeshifter is named after my cat, but I don’t know what name would apply to a sword with a sarcastic, cruel, arrogant personality. Bob?
Until next time, I am: pondering the names of swords.
I got back from All-state chorus this afternoon. I had a really great time and hope to make it next year. I came back with two souvenirs: an All-state chorus pin and a sore throat. I am extremely tired.
On the other hand, I finished Cujo. It was really good; much better than certain previous Steven King books I have read.
My Internet connection has been on and off, so this will be a short blog.
Until next time, I am: done singing for a while.
In one of my classes, I am in a group of four. We are always the farthest ahead of the three groups and we get along well. Today however, we were all very irritable and vicious toward each other. Apparently, yesterday’s debate has not quite blown over yet. The weekend should help tempers cool: we might get snow.
I leave for All-state tomorrow afternoon. I am really excited as it was extremely fun last year. It will be strange though. I have friends from all over the state, but the majority of my friends are separated into three groups: camp friends, school friends, and friends from one particular town. People from all three groups will be attending, so I am not sure how that will work. I don’t care. I’m just excited to see my friends.
Until next time, I am: Fighting with some friends and getting along with others.
Never mind doing something special for my twentieth post. I have been told what to blog on for today.
Today I was part of a sudden and pointless argument about nothing. My class was making a dichotomous key of the kids in the class. I and a large number of other students (Group Y) were gone on Thursday when we last had class. This resulted in some students who were there (Group X) having invested a lot of time and effort in the project already. The members of Group Y were told that we had to figure it out on our own, without Group X explaining how to do it. We started from scratch as we were told to, but things went bad. Through a series of misunderstandings and jumping to conclusions by Group X and some careless words and action by Group Y, we degenerated into a very large, loud, and rather angry verbal battle. Tempers ran high, unkind things were said, and certain members of Group X were very immature. Group Y was only doing as we were told, so technically, we were in the right. We had no right, however, to descend to Group X’s level and below. Both were equally in the wrong, and most of the girls in my class are mad at each other. On the bright side, the fight somehow resolved issues I had with a friend. Funny how that works sometimes.
Also, I attended a presentation on jazz today which was very cool. The main speaker was funny and explained well, the music was really good, and I ended up getting to be at the front of the lunch line so I could go practice with my quartet for All-state chorus. We are sounding really good and are all excited for the weekend.
Until next time, I am: Enjoying the Music
*In Post #17, I said the word dassy. That was a misspelling of day. I feel like an idiot for misspelling day. Sorry about that.
I’ve help it off for as long as I possibly could, but it’s no use. I have inevitably turned back to writing about books. Cujo is very good. Maybe the fact that it is about a rabid dog and not aliens helps make it more realistic.
As to my book, I am arguing again. Me, myself, and I just can’t get along for any lengthy amount of time. I have suddenly decided that I don’t like the looks of an imporant item, but I am really not sure how to deal with this. There isn’t a whole lot of flexibility when it comes to the appearance of this particular item. I am contemplating possible alternate designs, but I am not really sure what I want to do with it. I’m just going to try to move on and work with it later. I would rather my story grew at a normal rate and needed surgery later than stopped growing completely while I deal with the details.
Untill next time, I am: My Own Worst Enemy (not the song)
I’m close to post 20. I’ll have to do something special for it.
I finished Insurgent today and it was really good. I also finished Stephen King’s Under the Dome. I am still trying to see what is so scary about his books. They seem to range from boring to good, but are not that scary. I still enjoy them. I am running out of new reading material, something that happens to me three or four times a year. I need to take a trip to Barne’s and Noble. The next horror book on my list is either Cujo, Needful Things, or The Stand. On my classics list, I would like to finish Dracula, but I don’t have a copy. I will have to borrow one. I also need to get the newest book by Brandon Mull.
Until next time, I am: Freaking Out Due to Lack of Books
I am still working my way through Insurgent. It has given me a lot of information that I don’t recall from the previous book. The main character’s hair color for example. That is normally the sort of thing I remember.
I spent most of the dassy hunting and am a little bit tired.
Untill next time, I am: Getting some sleep.
